The updates formula

11/29/2025

The most common way to provide updates to fans is via social media platforms. While these platforms may be a good way to reach new audiences, they're not great with providing updates to your fans. The followers you have now on a certain platform may soon no longer be using that platform in favor of a different one and you lose the connections you made. To make and maintain fans it's best to setup your own platform.

Our latest template allows having an updates timeline that's similar to the social media timelines that users are familiar with. It includes both short-form post types like status updates and image posts, and longer-form blog posts. So you can make any kind of update and keep your updates centralized in one place that you have full control of.

To follow your updates, users can use a feed reader app to subscribe to an RSS feed of your updates. Or, they can subscribe via email. Giving them both options also gives them control over how they prefer to get your updates.

The best part is that these are standard web options that have been around since the early days of the web and show no signs of going away. And they keep your fans connected to you long-term, beyond the trends of social media platforms.
