The conference room bustled with conversation as the world’s most respected and revered scientists crammed into the huge hall. The room itself had a grand yet spacious feel, with a highly vaulted ceiling that was adorned with sweeping wide white architraves. Ominous gold cherubs appeared to ooze from darkened corners of the ceiling and walls, watching events unfold beneath them. The scientists chatted amongst themselves; several were engaged in fierce arguments, which vaguely remind the professor of stags locked in battle. He yawned despite himself and gazed around the room timidly, good no one seemed to have noticed. At a conference such as this, yawning was tantamount to professional suicide. As was the speech that he was about to make.
