Congratulations! You’ve unlocked the super awesome DIGIDITION of Yellow Peril Book 1! It is DRM free, platform agnostic, and ready to believe you. Thank you so much for your support. I know it may seem strange to purchase a digital version of a comic that you can read for free on the internet, so I am most honored and humbled that you’ve decided to spend your hard earned money.
In an era filled with so many disparate ways in which we experience content, it just makes sense to create products that respond to a broad spectrum of consumer desires. In publishing, it especially makes sense to create digital versions of print products. The entire printing process is digital. Printers use digital files to churn out dead tree books. All it takes is a click of a mouse to turn that print ready file into something ready to read on a consumer desktop, laptop, tablet, or e-reader. The process still has some kinks to work out. There’s a vast jungle of e-pub formats to hack through. Standards have yet to be universally adopted which can make things really difficult when choosing a format. But electronic publishing is here to stay.
So what do you get with this DIGIDITION? You get everything that’s in the print edition including the strip commentary, the bonus comic, and all the fun spot illustrations. You also get a clean version of the cover without the trade dress that you can extract and use as a wallpaper for your really wide-ass monitor, dual monitors setup, or a cropped wallpaper.
And one more thing.
I’ve included a step-by-step breakdown of how the cover came together that’s exclusive to this digital edition. It includes color screen grabs which would have been cost prohibitive for me to include in the print edition. Also, the cover was completed hours before I sent the files off to the printer so there wasn’t really time to put something together for print.
I hope you enjoy the DIGIDITION of the book as much as I did putting it together!
Most Humbly Yours,
If this is your introduction to the works of Jamie Noguchi, you are in for a treat. It’s the joy of a child showing you their favorite toy, not because they want your approval, but because it’s such a fucking awesome toy. (Did I mention this child has a potty mouth?)
If you are already an avid reader of Yellow Peril online, you’ll find the first major story arc all in one place. It’s a refreshing look at the first steps of the comic, and you may find a little bit of Jamie’s personal code:
